Artist Statement :

ISOLATION is a feeling that fascinated and inspired me since I started making jewelry in my own studio. It became a main theme in my work.

The starting point this time has been several journeys through Indonesia. There I saw the way in which people were living on small isolated islands, completely dependant on their environment (nature).

Weaving and basket ware made it possible for me to express my travel experiences in jewelry. Some of them look like cages : the outstanding symbol of ISOLATION

This exact architectural aspect inspired me to break through the boundaries of jewelry and expand them into make monumental objects.
