Artist Statement:
The classical techniques and materials I am drawn to serve as a framework to explore somewhat surrealistic concepts, specifically convulsive beauty. I see my work as a hybrid of two aesthetics, bred for a stronger beauty than the parent strains allow; structured and predetermined design merge with the unbridled growth of pathologies. A persistent component of my inspiration is the incubation of thought; I believe that design and aesthetics are infectious, spreading and mutating from one person to the next. |
